Translation

We provide standard and certified translation to corporations, institutions and individual customers, in full compliance with PN-EN 15038 translation standard. We employ computer-assisted translation software which translates into higher quality and shorter delivery time. We adopt an individual and project-based approach to each job, taking into account specific requirements of the customer on delivery time, purpose of the target text, or format.

In terms of lead times we ensure flexibility and short turnaround times.

The standard billing unit for translation is a page of 1500 characters (including spaces) of the source text. However, it is possible to use other billing units (e.g. words), also based on the target text count. 

We specialise in translations from and into Polish, but on demand we also handle multi-language projects. Our specialisations include but are not limited to: business and marketing, construction and architecture, chemistry and physics, education and science, economics and finance, IT and telecommunications, culture and arts, logistics and transport, medicine and pharmaceutics, defence, environmental science, law and administration, industrial production, agriculture and food processing, sport and tourism.

Translation quality is our primary focus. We carefully select translators, employ cutting-edge computer-assisted translation tools (XTM), manage project terminology as well as provide translators with customers’ guidelines.

Translation is a multi-staged process in which, next to translation proper, a number of other activities are involved, such as revision, review and DTP. The final combination of those additional activities depends on the purpose of the translation and requirements of the customer. We also offer a wide array of additional, translation-related services, such as certification by a certified translator, terminology management or translation memory building through alignment of previously translated texts. Among benefits of long-term cooperation with us is the option for the final price to be reduced based on repetitions in the source text and matches between the source and the translation memory built. Each translation order is recorded in our database, which helps us manage end-to-end translation process, starting with translator selection and ending up with translation delivery before the deadline expected by the customer.

We also ensure appropriate text formatting, understood as delivery of the target text in the appropriate format, as required by the customer. In the majority of cases, the format of the target document matches the source document format. We translate texts provided in most of the available document formats, such as Microsoft Office, pdf, graphic files used by PageMaker, QuarkPress, InDesign, CorelDraw, etc.).

We also provide localization which may also include application testing in terms of technical and linguistic aspects.

On request we provide:

- text revision (comparison of the source and target text in terms of grammatical correctness, style and vocabulary, as well as terminology consistency). The reviser checks the translation for its suitability or purpose, e.g. whether a contract is translated in line with the conventions used in the field);

- text review (a monolingual check of the target text to assess the suitability of the translation for the agreed purpose, without comparison with the source text);

- testing (to ensure reliable operation of the translated software or user interfaces. This is performed by experts in IT, who verify whether the software operates as required in the new language environment),

- translation certification (revision and authentication of the translation by a certified (court-accredited) translator. The certified translator needs to check the correspondence of the translation with the source text submitted to him/her, and certifies it with his/her signature, relevant legal statement and seal.

We also provide:

- terminology management, the purpose of which is the achieve terminology consistency across translated texts. Terminology management process essentially requires a consistent drafting of lists of terms and expressions in a given language combination, in-depth terminology research and consistent terminology application throughout the translation process.

- translation memory building (so-called alignment), where translation memories are set up based on the already translated texts. The translation memory thus generated can be used for translation of texts from similar fields, which enhances translation consistency and quality.

Other optional services we provide include:

- DTP - for translations to be published. It involves professional processing of the translated texts to go to print. To do so, the graphic designer uses source materials (graphics, photos, etc.) and creates a new document in the appropriate graphic format as required by the customer. We can also perform DTP for texts on the basis of printed source materials. It is essential that they are clean, free of creases or any other defects or damage, be of sufficient resolution so as to enable their faithful reproduction in another language after the text has been translated.
